"Gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us..."

Text: Romans 12:6

GOD’S WONDROUS PROVISION

God’s wondrously planned and effected salvation! But God did not stop at granting redemption to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us ponder (review) two special provisions that we must never take for granted!

1. Special provision of faith (Romans 12:3)

2. Special provision of the Body of Christ (Romans 12:5)

ANOTHER MARVELOUS PROVISION

As if the above are not enough, God added one more blessing!

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace
that is given to us, let us use them…”
Romans 12:6a

1. The concept of being given gifts

a) These may be rightly called “grace-gifts”.
b) They are given to believers by the grace of God.

2. Gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us

a) God in His sovereign will give different grace-gifts to His children.
i) His wisdom determines how He gives.
ii) His will (perfect) determines the gifts we obtain.
b) We are not able to made demands on God concerning His grace-gifts.

3. Let us use them

a) God’s gifts were meant to be employed/utilized.
b) Their functions must be well understood first; gifts must also be carefully cultivated by the individual believer (Cf. 2 Timothy 1:6).
c) The context of the Church must be borne in mind:-
i) Harmony must be borne in mind.
ii) Edification of the Body of Christ must also be uppermost in our mind.
