"In them the wrath of God is complete"

Text: Revelation 15:1

THE WRATH OF GOD

The wrath of God was forewarned. His wrath would be poured out against the evildoers who worshipped the Beast of the Sea.

“Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous:
seven angels having the seven last plagues,
for in them the wrath of God is complete.
And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire,
and those who have the victory over the beast,
over his image and over his mark
and over the number of his name,
standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.”
Revelation 15:1-2

1. Another sign in heaven.

a) John saw 7 mighty angels.

b) They held in their hands 7 plagues.

c) Their task was to pour out the plagues that represented the wrath of God.

d) When they have done that, the wrath of God would have been exercised completely.

2. Those who have victory over the Beast of the Sea.

a) John saw what appeared to be like a sea of glass mingled with fire.

b) This is symbolic.

i) The Beast of the Sea is defeated.

ii) Fire is used by God as His means of defeating a powerful enemy.

c) The Sea is no longer to be feared as the domain of the Beast.

d) The Sea is now compared to Glass.

3. Those who have emerged victorious stand on the Sea of glass.

a) They have triumphed over the Beast.

b) Over his image.

c) Over his mark.

d) Over the number of his name (666).

4. Harps of God.

a) These harps would be supplied by God.

b) With these harps they would be able to sing songs of praise to God.

c) The songs they sing would be ones of glorious victory.
