"Having the everlasting gospel to preach"

Text: Revelation 14:6

ANGELIC INVOLVEMENT IN PREACHING

The End Times would see many unexpected features. In this text, we read about an angel involved in preaching the everlasting gospel of God.

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven,
having the everlasting gospel
to preach to those who dwell on the earth—
to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—
saying with a loud voice,
‘Fear God and give glory to Him,
for the hour of His judgment has come;
and worship Him who made heaven and earth,
the sea and springs of water.'”
Revelation 14:6-7

1. Angelic involvement is not unusual at all.

a) The Angel Gabriel announced to both Zachariah and Mary the plan of God’s salvation (Luke 1).

b) An angel announced the birth of the Lord Jesus in Bethlehem (Luke 2).

2. The ministry of this flying angel.

a) He has the everlasting gospel to preach.

b) He will do his part in preaching:

i) To every nation

ii) Tribe

iii) People

c) He would probably be appearing to people:

i) As the angel Gabriel did.

ii) As the angel did who announced the birth of the Messiah (Luke 2).

iii) When and where he would appear is not known.

3. Why are angels involved in preaching the Gospel?

a) The Great Commission was given to the Apostles (Matthew 28:18-20).

b) By extension, the Commission is the responsibility of every believer.

c) Angels are involved because of the powerful presence and influence of the two evil Beasts.

d) An angelic involvement would help to counter the evil influence of the Beasts.

4. The emphasis of the gospel the angel proclaimed:

a) To fear God.

b) To give glory to the Lord.

c) To warn of the hour of judgment to come.

d) To worship God the Creator.

i) He made the heaven and earth.

ii) The sea and springs of water.
