“Your testimonies are very sure…” Psalm 93:5a
MEDITATION ON THE PERSON OF GOD
It is good to meditate on the Lord. There is so much about the Lord that brings great comfort to the heart. The following is a summary of the psalmist’s meditation on the Lord.
1. The majestic reign of the Lord
2. The strength of the Lord
3. The established eternal kingdom of God
4. The power of God
MORE FEATURES
The psalmist added a couple more feature to his list of thoughts.
“Your testimonies are very sure;
Holiness adorns Your house,
O LORD, forever.”
Psalm 93:5
1. “Your testimonies are very sure”
a) The word “testimonies” is actually a reference to the Scriptures.
b) The Scriptures are indeed sure and steadfast (Psalm 19:7-11).
2. “Holiness adorns Your house, O LORD, forever”
a) Holiness is an essential attribute of God.
b) Holiness truly adorns the house of the Lord.
c) Holiness is a permanent feature in the house of the Lord.
AN EXHORTATION TO CULTIVATE THE PRACTICE OF MEDITATING ON GOD
This short psalm offers a wonderful word of exhortation.
1. Meditation does not need to be time-consuming.
2. Meditation on God can bring such peace to the heart and mind.
3. Meditation deepens our understanding and appreciation of God.
Let us be greatly encouraged to learn how to meditate on the Person of the Lord till it becomes an integral part of our faith-practice.
