“Because he has set his love upon Me…” Psalm 91:14a
TWO SPECIAL THINGS GOD DESIRES
What does God desire from those who say they believe in Him and worship Him? The following text teaches us an important truth.
“Because he has set his love upon Me,
Therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.”
Psalm 91:14
1. “Because”
a) This is an important word to note.
b) The Lord’s promise of special blessing hinges on this word “because”.
c) Two special things God desires from us:-
i) Because he has set his love upon Me.
ii) Because he has known My name.
2. A love for God
This is clearly stated.
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
Deuteronomy 6:5
3. Knowledge of God
“To you it was shown, that you might know that the LORD Himself is God; there is none other besides Him.”
Deuteronomy 4:35
“Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
Deuteronomy 7:9
