Wrath, indignation, and trouble,
By sending angels of destruction among them.”
Psalm 78:49

a) This is a reference to the plagues of Egypt.
b) These were not mere climatic disasters.
c) These were signs and wonders of God.

a) His anger
b) His wrath
c) Indignation
d) Trouble- this is the expression of the above

b) They were Divine messengers sent out to carry out God’s judgment against Egypt.

ANGELS AS THE SERVANTS OF GOD

Angels were involved in the story of the destruction of cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:1-29).

1. Two angels were sent to Sodom and Gomorrah to deliver Lot and his family

2. They had a two-fold purpose:-

a) To deliver Lot and his family.
b) To bring destruction upon Sodom and Gomorrah.
c) They may also be called “angels of destruction”.
