Day 24 – Psalm 73

“You hold me by my right hand.” Psalm 73:23b

NEW-FOUND APPRECIATION

With this confession the psalmist Asaph found a new and fresh appreciation of his faith in God.

“Nevertheless I am continually with You;
You hold me by my right hand.”
Psalm 73:23

1. “Nevertheless”

a) The Lord had not abandoned Asaph.
b) The doubts he had did not materially affect his relationship with God.

2. “I am continually with You”

a) Asaph was a Levitical servant.
b) He was truly continually in the house of the Lord.
c) He still had his ministry.
i) He composed psalms.
ii) He was able to lead in worship.

3. “You hold me by my right hand”

a) This was an even more important truth.
b) God had been holding him up.
c) In fact God may be described as holding his right hand.
i) God had protected him.
ii) God had preserved him.
iii) God’s Presence was always with him.
iv) God had heard and answered his prayers.
v) God had now given him further enlightenment.
