“O You who hear prayer, To You all flesh will come.” Psalm 65:2
WORSHIP SHOULD NEVER BE A CASUAL MATTER
Worship in the days of King David was never a casual matter. The Scriptures in the Old Testament teach us much about how we should regard worship. What should we bear in mind when we think of worship?
1. The Greatness of God
Three things about God may be highlighted. These thoughts should cause us to practise reverence whenever we worship.
a) His Power
b) His holiness
c) His majesty
2. The great deeds of God
God has been more than gracious and wonderful to His people. Deep gratitude would dismiss any casualness of spirit in worship.

David added more thoughts as to why he wrote about making and keeping his vow to offer praise to God.
“O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come.
Iniquities prevail against me; as for our transgressions,
You will provide atonement for them.”
Psalm 65:2-3
1. Consciousness of a great God who attends to our prayers
A myriad prayers ascend to God every day and He hears them all. And according to His grace and mercy, He attends to all prayers. And all who have had prayers answered would offer grateful worship.
2. Consciousness of sinfulness
a) This is a natural sense of consciousness.
b) Not only was there consciousness, there was deep concern that sin may prevail.
3. Consciousness of a God who provides atonement
a) Sin cannot be trivialized.
b) God has to make atonement for all our sins.
Hence true worship of God always has an element of deep gratitude.
