“You have delivered my soul from death…” Psalm 56:13

HOW SERIOUS WAS DAVID’S PREDICAMENT?

David revealed why he was so fearful. He was in danger of losing his life. How well he remembered the Lord’s deliverance given to him.

“For You have delivered my soul from death.
Have You not kept my feet from falling,
That I may walk before God in the light of the living?”
Psalm 56:13

1. “For You have delivered my soul from death”

a) To fall into the hands of the Philistines would be death.
b) To fall into the hands of King Saul would be certain death.
c) Yet David testified of being delivered from death.
i) Spared
ii) Miraculously protected
iii) Wonderfully preserved

2. “Have You not kept my feet from falling”

a) The word “falling” has a number of applications.
b) Let us ponder the following:-
i) Falling into the hands of the enemies.
ii) Falling into despondent fear.

3. “That I might walk before God in the light of the living”

a) God had protected David’s life because of his faith and his prayers.
b) David determined that he would walk before God in his life; he would render praises to this great God of his!
