THE TRIALS OF LIFE
Our personal experience of life would confirm a vital truth that is well attested. There will always be trials in life. God does not prevent bad things from happening, but He at least makes this awesome promise.
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.”
Psalm 50:15
1. God’s idea of a Covenant relationship
a) There is worship.
b) But there must be heart and soul in worship and well expressed in thanksgiving.
c) There must be a desire to honour all vows made to God.
d) When God’s people run into troubles:-
i) They are to exercise their faith in Him
ii) They are to turn to Him in their day of trouble
2. God’s promise to His covenant-people
a) He will listen to their prayers.
b) He will respond to their cries for help.
c) He will offer Divine deliverance.
3. Appropriate response
a) Thanksgiving in worship.
b) Glorifying God through meaningful worship.
c) God’s name is lifted up as it should be.
d) A dynamic Covenant relationship is evidenced and developed.
