“Because He is Your Lord, worship Him.” Psalm 45:11b
THE BRIDE OF THE KING
The focus of the last segment of Psalm 45 is on the Royal Bride of the King (Psalm 45:10-17).
“Listen, O daughter,
Consider and incline your ear;
Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;
So the King will greatly desire your beauty;
Because He is your Lord, worship Him.”
Psalm 45:10-11
Good advice
a) It was common practice to give “bridal advice”.
b) Wise brides would do the following:-
i) They would listen.
ii) They would incline their ears.
iii) They would consider the advice given.
c) Forget
i) Your own people and your father’s house.
ii) A new chapter has opened.
iii) Marriage would soon take place.
c) Appropriate regard of the King
i) As Lord
ii) As One worthy of worship
We are reminded of what the apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:22-33 about Christ and the Church! Christ is the King-Groom and the Church, His beautiful Bride whom He loves dearly (Revelation 21– The Bride of the Lamb).
