Day 303 – Psalm 37
“But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD” Psalm 37:39
ONE FINAL WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO THE RIGHTEOUS
Psalm 37 concludes powerfully with a glorious word of promise to the righteous.
“But the salvation of the righteous is from the LORD;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.
And the LORD shall help them and deliver them;
He shall deliver them from the wicked,
And save them,
Because they trust in Him.”
Psalm 37:39-40
1. Salvation of the righteous
a) This word “salvation” is clearly tied in with the word “deliverance”.
b) There is a firm word of promise of deliverance
i) From the wicked.
ii) From the troubles caused by the wicked.
2. The LORD’s firm commitment to the righteous
a) He will be their strength.
b) He will help them.
c) He will deliver them.
d) He will save them.
3. “Because they trust in Him”
a) This is an expression of firm faith in the Lord.
b) The righteous would not resort to evil in their battle against the wicked.
c) God honours the trust of the righteous.
i) He would come to the rescue of the righteous in their time of need.
ii) He would bring His power to bear to bring about deliverance.
There is every reason for the righteous to continue to exercise full trust in the Lord!
