Day 191 – Psalm 25

“Who is the man that fears the LORD?” Psalm 25:12

THE FEAR OF THE LORD

The “fear of the Lord” is an important concept to discover and practice! How does one cultivate this “fear of the Lord”? We learn much from the “steps” that David took.

1. There was fear of the consequences of his sins and transgressions.

2. This fear drove David to seek God for full forgiveness.

3. The result was a new sense of fear- not of the penalty of sin- but a deep and reverential regard for the Lord!

4. The Lord’s tender mercies and His lovingkindness brought about this special reverential regard for Him.

GOD’S SPECIAL CARE FOR THOSE WHO TRULY FEAR HIM

David discovered that God had a special regard for those who genuinely feared Him!

“Who is the man that fears the LORD?
Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.
He himself shall dwell in prosperity,
And His descendants shall inherit the earth.
The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.”
Psalm 25:12-14
