“May He remember all your offerings” Psalm 20:3
OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES
It was the Lord Himself who gave to Israel an elaborate system of “offerings and sacrifices”. There were many reasons why this was taught to Israel. The following lessons may be highlighted:-
1. It taught Israel much about God:-
a) His Holiness.
b) His greatness.
c) The Importance of His role to the nation.
2. It taught Israel much about faith:-
a) To have absolute trust in God.
b) To have humble dependence upon God.
c) To seek Him in all circumstances of life.
i) In peace time
ii) In war time
d) To cultivate diligence and faithfulness.
i) Offerings and sacrifices were to be made morning and night.
ii) Special offerings were to be made in momentous times (like war).
PLEADING WITH GOD TO REMEMBER OFFERINGS
The following text warrants careful study.
“May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice.”
