Day 221 – Psalm 109

“Because he did not remember to show mercy…” Psalm 109:16a

MISDEEDS OF THE WICKED

Imprecatory prayers may appear to be vindictive, but in reality, they reflect an awareness of the misdeeds of the wicked.

“Let them be continually before the LORD,
That He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;
Because he did not remember to show mercy,
But persecuted the poor and needy man,
That he might even slay the broken in heart.”
Psalm 109:15-16

GOD’S JUSTICE

God’s justice will not be mocked. Though the wicked may seem to have the upper hand, it is only for a moment.

1. Ultimately, Divine justice will prevail.

2. The wicked will pay for his cruel and evil deeds.

3. The poor need not fear that God has forgotten them.

4. They will receive justice as they see the wicked perish by the hand of God executing Divine justice.
