Day 122 – Psalm 105

“Glory in His holy name…” Psalm 105:3a

ANOTHER LEVEL OF RELATING TO GOD

The psalmist introduces us to another level of relating to God. A faith-relationship with God should cause the heart to spontaneously give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Him. The psalmist feels that we could do even more!

“Glory in His holy name;
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!
Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!”
Psalm 105:3-4

1. Seekers of the Lord

a) This term describes those who truly wish to know the Lord.
b) The Lord bids people to seek Him (Psalm 27:8a).
c) The appropriate response should be a heartfelt desire to seek God (Psalm 27:8b).
d) True seekers of the Lord will do so with hearts that rejoice.

2. What should we be seeking for?

a) We should be seeking the face of the Lord always.
i) Seeking His grace
ii) Seeking His favour
iii) Seeking His mercy
iv) Seeking His strength
b) We should be seeking the Person of the LORD Himself.
i) There is so much to learn about Him.
ii) There is so much to experience.

3. “Glory in His holy name”

a) There should be a wonderful sense of “glorying” in knowing the Lord and His name.
b) Glory is essentially related to the Lord and His name; we should learn to glory in Him.
