Day 106 – Psalm 103

“The LORD pities those who fear Him.” Psalm 103:13b

GOD’S UNDERSTANDING OF OUR HUMAN WEAKNESSES

God is far more compassionate than many give Him credit for! He understands us much more than we realize!

“As a father pities his children,
So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
For He knows our frame;
He remembers that we are dust.”
Psalm 103:13-14

1. “As a father pities his children”

a) How does a loving father see his children?
i) Especially those with a weak character.
ii) And those who have behavior problems.
b) He “pities” them
i) He sympathizes.
ii) He grieves but does not give up on them!

2. “So the LORD pities those who fear Him”

a) If man can have “pity” how much more God!
b) God more than “pities”.
c) Those who fear Him is a special way of describing those who are genuinely His children.

3. “For He knows our frame”

a) God knows all about us.
b) He knows both our strengths and our weaknesses.

3. “He remembers that we are dust”

a) Man was made from humble material… only dust!
b) Inherent within man is great weakness.
c) God remembers just how weak we are and He exercises “pity” (understanding and sympathy).
