“The LORD executes righteousness and justice…” Psalm 103:6

OTHER REASONS WHY WE SHOULD BLESS THE LORD

It was right that we should take time to bless the Lord for the blessings (“benefits”) He has bestowed upon us. David certainly acknowledged the personal benefits from the Lord. But the benefits are not limited to the five blessings David listed briefly.

“The LORD executes righteousness
And justice for all who are oppressed.”
Psalm 103:6

1. Knowledge of God

a) This is a glorious blessing in itself.
b) This knowledge of God includes the following:-
i) Revealed knowledge (Communicated through the prophets, for example)
ii) Written in the laws of Moses
iii) Discovered in life

2. God’s relationship with His people

a) God graciously chose Israel to be His people (Deuteronomy 4:34).
b) He revealed Himself in various ways and at various times (Hebrews 1:1).

3. “The LORD executes righteousness and justice”

a) One of the expressions would be through the laws of Israel.
b) Another way was through the judicial system God established.
i) The judges
ii) The princes
iii) The king
c) There were times when God would personally exercise “divine intervention”.

4. The oppressed

God’s laws were given to govern His people. His laws were good because they especially protected the oppressed. All who had judicial authority were supposed to uphold the law and to ensure that the oppressed are not victimized by the wicked.
