The Works Of Jesus
Text: John 15: 24
THE WORKS OF JESUS
The works of Jesus were absolutely wonderful. Sadly, few appreciated the significance of His works.
“If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father.”
John 15:24
1. “If I had not done among them the works which no one else did”
a. The works of Jesus were truly unique.
b. No one else has ever done these miracles, certainly not in His time.
c. John listed just seven outstanding miracles in his gospel:
i. Turning water into wine (John 2:1-12)
ii. Healing a boy without being there personally (John 4:46-54)
iii. Healing a man who was sick for 38 years (John 5:1-15)
iv. Feeding 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish (John 6:1-14)
v. Walking on the sea (John 6:15-21)
vi. Healing of a man blind from birth (John 9:1-34)
vii. Raising Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-44)
2. “They would have no sin”
a. They would not have committed the grave sin of rejecting Jesus.
b. They would have no excuse for plotting to kill Jesus.
3. “But now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father”
a. “They have seen”
i. They could not deny what they had seen.
ii. They suggested that Jesus was in league with the Devil.
iii. They rejected what they had seen.
b. “And also hated”
i. They had no reason to hate at all.
ii. They should have been appreciative.
c. “Hated both Me and My Father”
i. Jesus and His Father were One.
ii. To hate Jesus would result in hating the Father.
