Text: Galatians 4: 17-18
MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“They zealously court you, but for no good; yes, they want to exclude you, that you may be zealous for them. But it is good to be zealous in a good thing always, and not only when I am present with you.”
Galatians 4:17-18
A WORD OF WARNING ABOUT THE FALSE TEACHERS
1. The teachers
a. They may appear to be good and true.
b. But in fact, they were false teachers.
2. Their tactics exposed.
a. They targeted the Galatian Christians.
i. They “courted” them.
ii. But they were not sincere people.
iii. Their goals were “no good”.
b. They “excluded” people to manipulate them.
i. This was one of the ways they manipulated the Galatians.
ii. If they did not follow the teachers, they were “excluded” from their company.
c. They wanted their followers to be “zealous”.
i. Zealous for their own goals.
ii. But not righteously zealous for the Gospel.
3. Zeal for good things.
a. Zeal is a good thing to possess.
i. If it is zeal for things that are good.
ii. This kind of zeal is always good.
b. There were some who were zealous:
i. When Paul was in Galatia.
ii. But that zeal did not last as long as it should have.
c. The zeal that the Galatians once had.
i. Zeal to pursue faith in the Lord Jesus.
ii. Zeal in the development of a friendship with Paul the apostle.
iii. Zeal to serve the Lord and to live for Him.
d. That good original zeal:
i. It was being directed in the wrong direction.
ii. It was being manipulated by the false teachers for the wrong ends.
iii. It should have been used to battle these false teachers!

经文:加拉太书 4
“那些人热心待你们,却不是好意,是要离间你们,叫你们热心待他们。 在善事上常用热心待人原是好的,却不单我与你们同在的时候才这样。”
《加拉太书 4:17-18》
