Text: Luke 9: 41-42

A NECESSARY WORD OF REBUKE

1. Sometimes, a word of rebuke was necessary.

2. This was one such time

Then Jesus answered and said,

“O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall
I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”
Luke 9:41

a. Faithless was rebuked! This problem was with the whole generation:

i. The multitude

ii. The father of the demonised boy

iii. The Disciples of the Lord Jesus

b. Perversity was also mentioned.

i. It describes people who have turned away.

ii. Having turned away from faith, they become crooked.

iii. They end up with the problem of faithlessness.

3. A sense of sadness.

a. How long shall I be with you?

i. The Lord Jesus would not be with them physically forever.

ii. He would soon be crucified and then return to Heaven.

b. “And bear with you?”

i. The word is that of “forbearance” or “endurance”.

ii. He has been putting up with faithlessness and perversity from the start till this moment.

4. The demonised boy needed help right now!

“Bring your son here.”

THE ATTACK OF THE DEMON ON THE BOY

1. This demon was vicious.

2. It attacked the boy.

a. The boy was thrown down to the ground.

b. He was in convulsion (Luke 9:42b).

THE POWER OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

1. He delivered a rebuke to the unclean spirit (Luke 9:42b).

2. He calmly healed the boy.

3. He was returned to the father completely healed.

必要的斥责

1. 有时候，我们必须受到斥责

2. 这就是其中一次

“耶稣说：“ 唉！这又不信又悖谬的世代啊，我在你们这里，忍耐你们要到几时呢？将你的儿子带到这里来吧！””

a. ‘不信’受到斥责！这是整个世代的问题：

i. 山上的群众

ii. 被污鬼缠住的孩子的父亲

iii. 主耶稣的门徒们

b. 悖谬也被提起

i. 形容转离信的人

ii. 转离信之后，他们变歪

iii. 他们有着‘不信’的问题

3. 一股伤心

a. “我在你们这里，忍耐你们要到几时呢？”

i. 主耶稣不会永远在这世上

ii. 祂将在十字架受死，回到天堂

b. “忍耐你们”

i. 忍耐表示“承受”

ii. 祂由始至今在承受人们的‘不信’与‘悖谬’

4. 被污鬼缠住的的孩子需要即时的帮助！

“将你的儿子带到这里来吧！”

污鬼袭击孩子

1. 污鬼十分狠毒

2. 它袭击那孩子

a. 鬼把他摔倒

b. 叫他重重地抽风《路加福 音9:42b》

主耶稣的力量

1. 祂斥责那污鬼《路加福音 9:42b》

2. 祂平静地把孩子治好

3. 他恢复后被交还给他父亲
