Text: Luke 24: 19-20
THE STORY TOLD BY THE TWO DISCIPLES I
1. The Stranger had asked the two Disciples what they were talking about.
2. The reply of the Disciples.
“And He said to them, ‘What things?’ So they said to Him, ‘The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a Prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered Him to be condemned to death, and crucified Him.’”

A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE LIFE OF THE LORD JESUS
1. Jesus of Nazareth
a. This was His popular name.
i. “Jesus” was His first name.
ii. “Nazareth” identifies his hometown.
b. A prophet
i. Many believed that the Lord Jesus was a prophet sent by God.
ii. He was mighty in miraculous deeds He performed.
iii. He was also a mighty preacher and teacher, helping people with His words.
c. Before God
i. The Lord Jesus lived a significant life before the presence of God.
ii. He was always conscious of His Father’s presence.
iii. He maintained a close relationship with His Father.
iv. He was truly approved by God the Father in heaven.
d. And all the people.
i. The Lord Jesus lived out His faith.
ii. He healed the broken-hearted.
iii. He befriended people who were sinful.
2. The chief priests and rulers of Israel.
a. They hated the Lord Jesus.
b. They were angry with Him for many reasons:
i. He pointed out their errors.
ii. He showed that they were wicked and sinful.
iii. They delivered the Lord Jesus to the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate.
iv. They demanded that the Lord Jesus be crucified.
