ANOTHER KINGDOM PARABLE
1. The Lord Jesus elaborated on the Kingdom of God.
2. To many people, the Kingdom of God seemed to be:
a. Very Political.
b. Too Complex.
c. Almost Incomprehensible.
THE KINGDOM OF GOD MAY BE UNDERSTOOD
1. A parable drawn from the commonplace “leaven” (yeast).
2. Women in the Society in the ancient days.
a. They were housewives.
b. They were mothers.
c. Few, if any, held important jobs.
d. Many were not well-educated.
3. The humble yeast (leaven)
a. It was used in every household to make bread.
b. Most households made their own bread.
c. Yeast was used to make the bread rise.
d. The womenfolk would be able to understand how yeast worked.
i. It had to be kneaded into the dough.
ii. It has to permeate the dough thoroughly.
4. The Kingdom of God
a. It begins with a simple message or a word from the Lord Jesus.
b. His word can produce faith in the heart.
c. It can permeate the whole person.
d. The word of the Kingdom the Lord Jesus proclaimed:
i. It may seem very small and insignificant.
ii. It has power to affect life positively.
iii. It helps the person to become a part of God’s kingdom.
This truth is simple to comprehend. Its powerful effect is profound!
