My Song In The Night (Gospel of Luke)
我夜间的歌曲《路加福音》
Text: Luke 11: 14-16
WICKED PEOPLE
1. Unfortunately, there are always wicked people around.
2. The Lord Jesus Christ had wicked people who refused to listen to Him.
3. He continued to serve God faithfully, despite all the problems He had to face:
a. Preaching
b. Teaching
c. Healing the sick
d. Casting out demons
THE CASTING OUT OF A MUTE SPIRIT
1. A man who had a demon that caused him to lose his power to speak was brought to the Lord Jesus.
2. The Lord recognised that it was a demon who possessed the Mute.
3. He cast out the evil spirit (Luke 11:14a).
4. The man who was healed was now able to speak.
5. The multitudes marvelled when they witnessed this miracle (Luke 11:14b).
NASTY REMARKS SPOKEN AGAINST THE LORD JESUS
1. “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.” (Luke 11:15)
a. This was uncalled for.
b. This was a false allegation.
c. It was completely baseless.
d. It was intended to hurt the Lord and His ministry.
e. The Lord Jesus was alleged to be using demonic power to cast out demons!
2. “Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven.” (Luke 11:16)
a. The casting out of demons was, in itself, a sure sign from heaven.
b. God’s power had been given to the Lord Jesus so that He can cast out demons.
c. But this was challenged by His wicked enemies.
d. They challenged Him to perform other signs.
Thankfully, the Lord Jesus was not perturbed by these people, nor by their nasty words!
