Text: Genesis 9: 1-3
MEDITATION
Genesis 9:1-3
1 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.
3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. God’s blessings on Noah and family
a. This was what God had said when He created Adam and Eve.
b. This blessing was now repeated.
i. Be fruitful and multiply.
ii. Fill the earth.
iii. The earth would need to be populated.
iv. As much as the animal, birds and fish would multiply, so must human population.
2. An added blessing
a. All animals and birds would be given an instinctive fear of Man.
b. All living things:
i. They would be more numerous.
ii. Some would be much larger and more powerful,
but they would fear Noah and his family instead.
iii. Noah and family would be protected from the animals and birds.
c. Provision of food:
i. All living things will be available as food for the family.
ii. In the case of Adam and Eve, animals were not part of their diet.
iii. In Noah’s case, animal or fish could also be consumed as food.
iv. Provision was part of God’s blessings

2 凡地上的走兽和空中的飞鸟，都必惊恐，惧怕你们，连地上一切的昆虫并海里一切的鱼，都交付你们的手。3 凡活着的动物，都可以做你们的食物，这一切我都赐给你们，如同菜蔬一样。
