Text: Genesis 6: 5-8
MEDITATION
Genesis 6:5-8
5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The spread of wickedness
a. It was getting worse.
b. The heart and mind were deeply affected.
c. The intents of the heart and mind were inclined towards evil.
d. This was an inclination that was perpetual.
2. God’s sorrow
a. He grieved over mankind.
b. He had done much for mankind.
i. He had provided abundantly.
ii. He had blessed marvelously.
iii. He had shown much grace and understanding.
c. But mankind had taken things for granted and had pursued wickedness instead of godliness.
3. God’s judgment pronounced
a. He would destroy all that He had created.
b. This would affect the following:
i. Man and beast
ii. Flying creatures and creeping things
4. Grace
a. Noah had found grace from the Lord.
b. He had chosen to live righteously instead of following the wickedness he saw around him.

5耶和华见人在地上罪恶很大,终日所思想的尽都是恶,
6耶和华就后悔造人在地上,心中忧伤。
7耶和华说:“我要将所造的人和走兽并昆虫,以及空中的飞鸟,都从地上除灭,因为我造他们后悔了。”8唯有挪亚在耶和华眼前蒙恩。
