Text: Genesis 41: 14-16
MEDITATION
Genesis 41:14-16
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh.
15 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it.”
16 So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The Pharaoh’s response
a. He summoned Joseph to be brought to him.
b. He desperately wanted to know the meaning of the two dreams.
c. His magicians and wise men could not interpret his dreams.
2. Joseph
a. He had to be brought out of the dungeon (prison).
b. He had to be prepared before he could be presented to the Pharaoh.
i. He had to shave.
ii. He had to have a change of clothing.
iii. He could not just appear before the Pharaoh dressed as a prisoner.
3. Pharaoh’s opening words to Joseph
a. He had a dream.
b. But no one could interpret it.
c. He had heard that Joseph could interpret dreams.
4. Joseph’s response
a. He was candid and honest.
b. He spoke of God as the One who could give the Pharaoh the meaning and peace.
c. Joseph refused to take any credit for anything that he had done in the past.

14 法老随即差人去召约瑟,他们便急忙带他出监,他就剃头,刮脸,换衣裳,进到法老面前。
15 法老对约瑟说:“我做了一梦,没有人能解。我听见人说,你听了梦就能解。”16 约瑟回答法老说:“这不在乎我,神必将平安的话回答法老。”
