Text: Exodus 7: 1-2
MEDITATION
Exodus 7:1-2
1 So the LORD said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.
2 You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of his land.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. God’s instructions
a. These were given once again.
b. These were already spoken to Moses.
c. However, Moses had difficulty believing.
2. The need to be instructed again
Some reasons why these instructions were repeated:
a. For clarity
b. For confidence
c. For certainty
3. What God would do
a. Moses was not confident because he felt that everything depended on him.
b. This was actually an incorrect understanding.
c. It is God Himself who would do the main work.
d. Moses would only be God’s servant.
4. A clearer picture was given
a. Moses would be like God. But he must remember that he is NOT God!
b. Aaron would be a prophet. He would be the spokesman.
5. The part of Moses
a. He must speak whatever God commanded him.
b. Aaron would assist by speaking to the Pharaoh.
c. There was just one message to be given to the Pharaoh.
i. He must heed God’s command.
ii. He must release the children of Israel from bondage.
iii. He must send them out of the land of Egypt.
