Text: Exodus 32: 7-8
MEDITATION
Exodus 32:7-8
7 And the LORD said to Moses, “Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.
8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a moulded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ‘This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. God’s Word to Moses
a. He must go down from the mountain immediately.
b. God alerted Moses to what was happening on the ground.
c. Of course, God knew what was happening though He was giving the Tabernacle plans to Moses.
i. He is God.
ii. He is omniscient.
iii. He is also holy.
iv. The worship of God cannot be done using an idol to represent Him.
v. Nothing can be used to portray God in any way.
2. Description of the problem
a. Corruption
i. The people had corrupted themselves spiritually.
ii. They had corrupted themselves morally.
b. Turned aside from God’s way.
i. They had been instructed by Moses.
ii. God had spoken to the people directly (Exodus 20).
iii. They had turned away from what they had been taught.
c. Idolatry
i. They had made a golden calf.
ii. They had worshiped it.
iii. They had made sacrifices to it.
iv. They have proclaimed the golden calf their god!
v. It was the golden calf god who had led them out of Egypt.

7耶和华吩咐摩西说：“下去吧，因为你的百姓，就是你从埃及地领出来的，已经败坏了。8他们快快偏离了我所吩咐的道，为自己铸了一只牛犊，向它下拜献祭，说：‘以色列啊，这就是领你出埃及地的神！’”
