Text: Exodus 29: 4-9
MEDITATION
Exodus 29:4-9
4 “And Aaron and his sons you shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and you shall wash them with water.
5 Then you shall take the garments, put the tunic on Aaron, and the robe of the ephod, the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the intricately woven band of the ephod.
6 You shall put the turban on his head, and put the holy crown on the turban.
7 And you shall take the anointing oil, pour it on his head, and anoint him.
8 Then you shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.
9 And you shall gird them with sashes, Aaron and his sons, and put the hats on them. The priesthood shall be theirs for a perpetual statute. So you shall consecrate Aaron and his sons.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. This sacred ceremony of Consecration
a. This would be held at the door of the Tabernacle.
b. This ceremony was to be conducted outside the Tabernacle.
c. The public (the worshippers) would be able to see this sacred ceremony.
2. Wash them with water
a. This was a humbling experience for the priests.
b. They have to be washed and made clean (symbolic).
3. The holy garments would then be put on the high priest Aaron.
a. The tunic
b. The robe of the ephod
c. The ephod
d. The breastplate
e. The band of the ephod (the sash)
f. The turban
g. The holy crown was to be put on the turban.
h. This was like a tiara with the engraved words “Holiness to the LORD”.
4. Anointing oil
a. The anointing oil represented the Spirit of God.
b. This would be poured on the high priest to anoint him and consecrate him for his ministry in the Tabernacle.
5. The anointing of the priests
a. They would have tunics put on them.
b. Sashes would be given to them to gird them.
c. They would be given hats to wear as well.

4 要使亚伦和他儿子到会幕门口来，用水洗身。
5 要给亚伦穿上内袍和以弗得的外袍并以弗得，又戴上胸牌，束上以弗得巧工织的带子。
6 把冠冕戴在他头上，将圣冠加在冠冕上，
7 就把膏油倒在他头上膏他。
8 要叫他的儿子来，给他们穿上内袍。9 给亚伦和他儿子束上腰带，包上裹头巾，他们就凭永远的定例得了祭司的职任。又要将亚伦和他儿子分别为圣。
