"Then they will cry to the LORD"

Text: Micah 3:4

A SOLEMN REALITY

What happens when those who are wicked, find themselves victims of more wicked people?

“Then they will cry to the LORD,
But He will not hear them;
He will even hide His face from them at that time,
Because they have been evil in their deeds.”
Micah 3:5

1. “They will cry to the LORD”

a) When all else has failed.
b) When there is no one else to turn to.
c) They will cry to the LORD indeed.

2. On what basis would they cry out?

a) Their faith in God?
b) Their relationship with the LORD?
c) Their love for the LORD?
d) They have no basis to cry out to the LORD.

3. “But He will not hear them”

a) He is not their God.
b) He is not obliged to hear them.

4. “He will even hide His face from them at that time”

a) On purpose, He will hide His face.
b) This is His prerogative.

5. “Because they have been evil in their deeds”

a) The Lord looked at their lives.
b) He assesses their deeds.
i) Their deeds had been evil.
ii) Not just occasional bad deeds but all their life.

THEY HAD MISUNDERSTOOD FAITH IN GOD

Perhaps, they thought that they could do evil all their life. Then at the very last minute, they could cry out to God and plead for His help.

1. They had grossly misunderstood God.

2. Their appeal for help would go unheeded. They would perish in their sins!
