“Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem…” Acts 6:7

THE DISCIPLES OF THE LORD JESUS

Mark concluded his Gospel on a strong note with reference to the disciples of the Lord Jesus.

“And they went out and preached everywhere,
the Lord working with them and confirming the word
through accompanying signs. Amen.
MARK 16:20

1. The Lord working with them

The disciples had known success in earlier ministries. Let us recall the following text that described the first time the disciples were sent out.

“So they went out and preached that people should repent.
And they cast out many demons, anointed with oil
many who were sick, and healed them.”
MARK 6:12-13

a) No more doubts or fears
Whatever doubts the disciples had were dealt with! They were no longer cringing in fear either.
b) Preached everywhere
This new ministry was even more challenging than the first one! The challenge of the Lord Jesus to His disciples was to preach the Gospel to every creature.
