Day 33

"Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved"

Text: Joel 2:32

WOULD SALVATION STILL BE POSSIBLE

The Day of the LORD is always associated with Divine final judgment. Would it be too late to seek salvation?

“And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As the LORD has said,
Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.”
Joel 2:32

1. “And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved”

a) The possibility of salvation is still possible.
b) The promise of the Lord is secure and strong.
i) Whoever calls on the LORD that individual would be saved.
ii) This word of promise would come to pass as God has said.

2. “For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the LORD has said”

a) Mount Zion
i) This is the place where God is worshiped.
ii) God would establish Mount Zion as a place of salvation and refuge.
b) Jerusalem
i) This is where God would build His holy city.
ii) Mount Zion would be situated here.
c) Deliverance
i) This is what the Lord has promised.
ii) God would never go back on His word of promise.

3. “Among the remnant whom the LORD calls”

a) The Lord’s Calling
i) Essentially it is an invitation to seek salvation.
ii) One must respond humbly and swiftly.
b) The remnant

The idea of a remnant suggests that not many would believe God sadly.
The human heart can be so wicked and stubborn it rejects God’s deliverance!
