"The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken"

Text: Jeremiah 51:58

THE FAMOUS WALLS OF BABYLON

Babylon was famous for many things. Mention is made of the “hanging garden of Babylon”. The broad walls of the city were famous too. The walls were so broad chariots could be ridden on them safely.

“Thus says the LORD of hosts:
‘The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken,
And her high gates shall be burned with fire;
The people will labour in vain,
And the nations, because of the fire;
And they shall be weary.'”
Jeremiah 51:58
