"An astonishing and horrible thing"

Text: Jeremiah 5:30

A TERRIBLE RELIGIOUS SCENARIO

The Lord revealed to Jeremiah deeper insights of the actual religious scenario in the land. Prophets and priests were supposed to be the spiritual mainstay of the country. But what if they failed miserably?

“An astonishing and horrible thing
Has been committed in the land:
The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?”
