"That He might instruct you..."

Text: Deuteronomy 4:36

A GREAT EMPHASIS ON LEARNING

Every mention of God’s teaching must remind us that we need to be very serious and committed to learning deep lessons.

ASPECTS OF THE LEARNNG PROCESS

There are many aspects of the learning process that must be appreciated.

1. We must never be contented with the superficial aspects

a) Intellectual understanding.
b) Knowledge of mere facts (even of theological facts is superficial).
c) Even if a person becomes a Biblical scholar, mere facts do not go very far.

2. We need to know what God desires us to learn

a) We must seek to fear the Lord.
b) We must seek to love Him.
c) We must desire to walk in His ways.
d) We must have a deep faith in Him.
e) We must express our trust in Him with full obedience.

AN IMPORTANT REMINDER

We have an important reminder in the following text.

“Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you;
on earth He showed you His great fire,
and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.
And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their descendants after them;
and He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power.”
Deuteronomy 4:36-37

1. God speaks to His people that He might instruct them.

2. God shows His people who He is.

a) He dwells in heaven.
b) He loves His people.
c) His Presence is with them.
d) His mighty power will be employed to protect His people.
e) He has great plans for His people.
f) He will lead them to their inheritance.
