"His arm shall be against the Chaldeans"
Text: Isaiah 48:14
A FURTHER WORD CONCERNING THE CHALDEANS
Many words had already been given by the LORD concerning the Chaldeans. A further word was now declared!
“All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear!
Who among them has declared these things?
The LORD loves him;
He shall do His pleasure on Babylon,
And His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.
I, even I, have spoken;
Yes, I have called him,
I have brought him, and his way will prosper.”
Isaiah 48:14-15
1. Who would stand with the LORD?
a) Many had heard the word of the LORD.
b) Once again, the LORD spoke to people who had assembled to hear.
c) The question now was who would declare these things God had spoken?
d) Whoever would declare these things:
i) With understanding.
ii) With faith.
iii) With courage.
e) The person who declares God’s word would be loved by the LORD.
i) Obviously, there were few who stood up for the LORD.
ii) Many had not believed the LORD and His prophetic word.
iii) Those who would declare the LORD’s word would be specially loved.
2. God’s plan concerning the Chaldeans.
a) He would deal with them according to His pleasure.
b) His mighty arm would be revealed against the Chaldeans.
3. God’s promise to the one who would declare His word bravely.
a) God had spoken to him.
b) The LORD had called him to serve.
c) God would prosper that faithful servant of His!
