"In the LORD I have righteousness and strength"
Text: Isaiah 45:24
BLESSINGS TO BE FOUND IN THE LORD
Israel was invited to discover the blessings they would find through turning to the LORD in faith. Wonderful blessings abound indeed!
“He shall say,
‘Surely in the LORD I have righteousness and strength.
To Him men shall come,
And all shall be ashamed
Who are incensed against Him.
In the LORD all the descendants of Israel
Shall be justified, and shall glory.'”
Isaiah 45:24-25
1. Four blessings were highlighted.
a) Righteousness
i) Israel need not live a life of sinfulness.
ii) Everyone may enjoy a life of righteousness instead.
b) Strength
i) Living in sin leads to weakness.
ii) The believer will find strength to live meaningfully.
c) Justification
i) Those who come to the LORD will be justified.
ii) Sins will be forgiven and all who believe will be declared righteous.
d) Glory
i) All believers can glory in the LORD.
ii) Their faith in God would cause them to find much happiness
and meaning in life.
2. Who may come to the LORD?
a) All may turn to God.
b) Even those who had been incensed against the LORD in the past.
c) All will be able to testify of the blessings they would receive from God.
d) All descendants of Israel may return to the LORD, though they may have been
scattered far and wide.
