"Look to Me, and be saved"

Text: Isaiah 45:22

A CALL TO LOOK TO THE LORD

The LORD graciously invited Dispersed Israel to look to Him. Israel was scattered abroad because of the Assyrians and the Babylonians. This was a wonderful word of hope that God was giving to all in captivity.

“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath.”
Isaiah 45:22-23

c) Once again, this word of hope was proclaimed.

2. Looking to the LORD.

a) Deliverance would be given to all who turned to the LORD.

b) This invitation was extended to Israel scattered far and wide.

c) Even if one was “at the ends of the earth” the LORD would respond
by granting salvation.

d) The LORD is God and there is no one else who could save them!

3. The LORD made an oath to Himself.

a) The word that He proclaimed was spoken in righteousness.

b) That word would not return to Him empty and unfulfilled.

c) All knees would bow to the LORD:

i) In faith.

ii) In humility.

iii) In recognition of the LORD as God.

iv) In worship of God.

v) Oaths would be taken in His name.
