Day 233

"Rise up, you women who are at ease"

Text: Isaiah 32:9

THE ROLE OF WOMEN

The place and role of women was once again addressed. Isaiah already addressed the wealthy women who were overly caught up with worldliness (Isaiah 3:16-26). Isaiah addressed the womenfolk once again.

“Rise up, you women who are at ease,
Hear my voice;
You complacent daughters,
Give ear to my speech.
In a year and some days
You will be troubled, you complacent women;
For the vintage will fail,
The gathering will not come.
Tremble, you women who are at ease;
Be troubled, you complacent ones;
Strip yourselves, make yourselves bare,
And gird sackcloth on your waists.”
Isaiah 32:9-11
