"You will be punished by the LORD of hosts"

Text: Isaiah 29:6

JUDGMENT OF THE WICKED ENEMIES

Judah would have to suffer for the many wicked sins committed. But God would spare His people if they were to repent. However, to the unrepentant wicked enemies, God would mete out to them divine judgment.

“Moreover the multitude of your foes
Shall be like fine dust,
And the multitude of the terrible ones
Like chaff that passes away;
Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly.
You will be punished by the LORD of hosts
With thunder and earthquake and great noise,
With storm and tempest
And the flame of devouring fire.”
Isaiah 29:5-6

ii) They would become like “chaff” that would be blown away.

iii) This divine punishment will take place in God’s plan and timeline.

a) He Himself would see to the total destruction of the wicked enemies.

This was a very solemn word from the LORD of hosts!
