Hebrews
"The first part... the sanctuary"
Text: Hebrews 9:2
THE BUILDING OF THE TABERNACLE
Everybody was given a chance to participate in the building of the tabernacle. All were encouraged to give “willingly with his heart” (Cf. Exodus 25:2; 35:5). Many hearts were stirred as they heard the words of exhortation to give. The response was so overwhelming there was actual restriction of giving (Cf. Exodus 36:5-6).
TWO PARTS OF THE TABERNACLE
The author of Hebrews wrote of the Tabernacle as consisting of two main parts. The first was described in the following text.
“For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part,
in which the lampstand, the table, and the showbread.
which is called the sanctuary.”
