“An anchor of the soul…”

Text: Hebrews 6:19

STRUGGLES IN LIFE

There are many struggles in life. It may be said that we will always have to struggle throughout life.
These are some of the struggles we have in life:-

1. Struggles in studies (the foundational years)

2. Struggles in employment (making a living)

3. Struggles in the family

4. Struggles in old age

5. Struggles because of setbacks and serious illnesses

6. Struggles in our walk of faith

GOD’S PROVISION OF AN ANCHOR

God in His grace and love provided us with an anchor called “hope”.

“This hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast and which enters the Presence
behind the veil.”
Hebrews 6:19

1. An anchor of the soul

a) An anchor does not calm the stormy seas.

b) An anchor does not prevent storms from arising.

c) An anchor however will hold the ship “sure and steadfast” in the worst of storms.

2. Enters the Presence behind the veil

a) The “veil” stands in between the Holy Place and the Holy of holies.

b) God’s very Presence was promised “behind the veil”.

c) The High Priest (Levitical) was allowed to enter into the veil once a year.

d) We are promised that we may enter into the very Presence of God behind the veil.

e) We have this glorious Hope wonderfully given to us as a strong consolation.
