Day 244

"Waiting till His enemies are made His footstool."

Text: Hebrews 10:13

GOD’S COMPLEX AND PROFOUND WILL

God’s will must never be understood in a simplistic manner! His will is at all times profound and complex! The following text is an example.

“From that time waiting till His enemies
are made His footstool.”
Hebrews 10:13

1. Jesus at the right hand of God

Many wonderful thoughts are associated with the concept of being “at the right hand of God”. The following are common associations:-

a) This is His privileged place of honour.
b) This is where He enjoys tremendous kingly authority.
c) This is where He ministers on our behalf as our great High Priest.

2. From that time waiting

a) This is an additional idea.
b) Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God “waiting”.

3. Till His enemies are made His footstool.

a) This text is taken from Psalm 110.

“The LORD said to my Lord,
‘Sit at My right hand till I make Your enemies Your footstool.’
The LORD shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
Psalm 110:1-2

b) Meaning and significance of this prophetic text:-
i) There is a work that God has not yet completed.
ii) This is the work of conquering the enemies of Christ.
iii) In this text the reference is the Messianic kingdom.
iv) It also has to do with the king of Israel.
v) God would make all the enemies of the Messiah His footstool.
Till then, Christ sits at the right hand of God the Father!
