Bible Reading:

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.

Isaiah 43:1

1. Interesting knowledge about Isaiah the Prophet

a) His ministry (740-700 BC)

b) He prophesied under the reigns of 4 kings (Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah)

c) He was a very gifted prophet

i) A theologian (A Bible scholar)

ii) He was Poetic

iii) He served kings directly

iv) He was given many Visions by God

2. Isaiah as a Bible Scholar

a) He presented God as the Creator of Jacob or Israel

b) God was honoured as the Lord

c) He was hailed as the Redeemer of Israel

3. Understanding Biblical Language

a) God as the Creator

i) He created Jacob when he was born

ii) He created the nation called Israel

iii) God is therefore Creator twice over!

b) Lord

i) There may be human kings

ii) Isaiah acknowledged that God is really the Lord

iii) He is the True Lord of the nation

c) Redeemer

i) Once, Israel was enslaved by the Egyptians

ii) God came and rescued Israel

iii) To rescue and save makes God the True Redeemer

4. God is all these things to us

a) He is our Creator

b) He is our Lord

c) He is our Redeemer

5. Let us learn how we may Relate to God better

a) We must get to know God better

b) It would be good to express grateful thanks to the Lord!

iii. 因此祂是真正的救赎者

4. 上帝对我们而言也是这一切

a. 我们必须更认识上帝
