Day 102

"Let him who is taught the word share in all good things..."

Text: Galatians 6:6

THE MATTER OF GIVING

The apostle Paul was one of the most ardent teachers of God’s word. Sometimes support for his livelihood and his ministry was not forthcoming. He wrote to the Galatians candidly on this subject.

Let him who is taught the word share in all good
things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived,
God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,
that he will also reap.
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption,
but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Galatians 6:6-8

1. “Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches”

a) Paul broached the subject of support for those who teach God’s word.
i) As missionaries
ii) As preachers/teachers/pastors
b) Those who benefit from having been taught.
i) They are blessed with the teaching of God’s word.
ii) They enjoy the good things of life.
iii) They should share what they have been blessed with.

2. An important principle to bear in mind

a) Sowing and reaping.
b) This is a Divine and universal principle established.
c) God will not be mocked!

3. Those who sow to the flesh

a) They care only about themselves.
b) They couldn’t care less about those who devote themselves to serving the Lord and teaching His word.
c) These would reap corruption to their souls.

4. Those who sow to the Spirit

a) They care about God’s principle of taking care of His servants.
b) They will sow good seeds that will result in reaping everlasting life.
c) This Divine principle must be borne in mind faithfully and carried out practically.
