"Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself"

Text: Ezekiel 38:23

THE JUDGMENT OF GOG

The Lord will battle Gog and all his allies. He will call for a sword against Gog that will see the enemies of Israel soundly defeated.

“‘I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,’
says the Lord God.
‘Every man’s sword will be against his brother.
And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed;
I will rain down on him, on his troops,
and on the many peoples who are with him,
flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself,
and I will be known in the eyes of many nations.
Then they shall know that I am the Lord.'”
Ezekiel 38:21-23

1. Calling for a sword.

a) The sword is a symbol of war.

b) Gog believed that he would lead a strong coalition of armies against Israel and that he would win this war.

c) He would be in for a surprise!

2. The coalition.

a) It will not last very long.

b) The armies will end up fighting each other.

c) National interests will break up the coalition.

d) The enemies would end up fighting among themselves.

e) “Every man’s sword will be against his brother”.

3. Divine judgment would be poured out:

a) Pestilence

b) Bloodshed

c) Flooding rain

d) Great hailstones

e) Fire

f) Brimstone.

4. At the end of the war:

a) God will magnify Himself.

b) He will sanctify Himself.

c) All nations will know and acknowledge “I am the Lord”.
