"My fury will show in My face"

Text: Ezekiel 38:18

THE FURY OF GOD

When Gog leads his allies to attack Israel, the Lord will reveal and display His fury against the enemies. The Lord will stand up to defend His people as He had promised. He had not brought them back to Israel only to be killed by Gog of Magog.

“‘And it will come to pass at the same time,
when Gog comes against the land of Israel,’
says the Lord God, ‘that My fury will show in My face.
For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken:
‘Surely in that day there shall be
a great earthquake in the land of Israel,
so that the fish of the sea,
the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field,
all creeping things that creep on the earth,
and all men who are on the face of the earth
shall shake at My presence.
The mountains shall be thrown down,
the steep places shall fall,
and every wall shall fall to the ground.””
Ezekiel 38:18-20

1. The Lord will judge Gog and his allies.

a) He will show His fury on His face.

b) Gog will see revealed:

i) The Lord’s fury.

ii) His fiery wrath.

iii) His jealousy.

2. Seismic activity.

a) Israel is not immune to seismic activity.

b) God will bring a great earthquake into the land of Israel.

i) God created an earthquake to destroy the rebels of the house of Korah (Numbers 16).

ii) God will cause an earthquake to destroy Gog and the enemies he had led to attack Israel.

3. The presence of God.

a) God will manifest His presence mightily.

b) It will affect the following:

i) The fish of the sea.

ii) The birds of the air.

iii) All creatures that creep.

iv) Men on the earth.

c) Mountains will be affected.

d) Steep places will also be affected.

e) All will recognize the divine presence of God.
