"Set your face against Mount Seir"

Text: Ezekiel 35:2

MOUNT SEIR

Mount Seir was described as the home of Esau (Genesis 32:3; 36:8-9). The original dwellers of Mount Seir were called the Horites (Genesis 14:6). Mount Seir became synonymous with Edom or Esau. This word from the Lord addressed the Edomites, the descendants of Esau.

“Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
‘Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir
and prophesy against it,
and say to it, ‘Thus says the Lord God:
‘Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you;
I will stretch out My hand against you,
And make you most desolate;
I shall lay your cities waste,
And you shall be desolate.
Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”'”
