"The LORD your God..."
Text: Deuteronomy 10:17
THE CORRECT PERSPECTIVE OF GOD
Jesus’ perspective of God was absolutely correct! Let us look at some texts that help us understand why we should acknowledge the LORD as our one and only God.
“For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords,
the great God, mighty and awesome…
You shall fear the LORD your God;
you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast,
and take oaths in His name.”
Deuteronomy 10:17, 20
1. The reason why Jesus would never worship Satan is obvious
a) He is not Deity.
b) He is not God.
c) He is not the Lord.
2. An important perspective to own
a) He is the LORD (our) God.
b) He is the God of gods.
c) He is the Lord of lords.
d) He is the great God.
e) He is truly mighty and awesome.
3. Appropriate response
a) We are to fear the Lord our God.
b) We are to serve Him.
c) We are to hold fast to Him.
d) We are to take oaths (if any) only in His name!
